The Cisco QSFP-40/100-SRBD is a cutting-edge, dual-rate Quad Small Form-Factor Pluggable (QSFP28) optical transceiver designed for high-density data centers and enterprise core networks. It offers unique flexibility by supporting both 40 Gigabit Ethernet (40G) and 100 Gigabit Ethernet (100G) data rates over a single module.

The standout feature of this transceiver is its Bi-Directional (BiDi) optical technology. By transmitting and receiving simultaneously on both strands of a standard duplex LC multimode fiber (MMF) patch cable, it allows data center operators to upgrade their infrastructure from 10G or 40G to 100G speeds without the massive capital expense of tearing out existing duplex LC fiber to lay down parallel MPO/MTP cabling.

  • Onboard FEC & Gearbox: Features internal forward error correction (FEC) and an electronic gearbox to cleanly convert native 4x25G host electrical signals into 2x50G optical signals.
